Maintaining certification
The production centre dossiers are examined every 6 months by a Certification Committee, which issues a decision based on the results of the visits and tests that are presented anonymously.
The possible decisions are as follows:
  • certification maintained ,
  • certification maintained with observation (remark),
  • certification maintained with a warning (without consequence for the production centre, unless significant new deviations are reported during the following committee meeting),
  • certification maintained with a warning+ additional visit (cost born by the production centre),
  • suspension of the certification (may concern a single process or all processes),
  • withdrawal of the certificate (for a single process or all processes).
New assembly process
  • Vitrage isolant
An assembly process is mainly defined by an association of a type of spacer with a type of sealant..
For additional information, click on the button "En savoir plus" ("Read more").

To make an application, the production centre must inform CEKAL of the reference(s) of the mastic sealant(s) and interlayer(s) that it intends to use.

CEKAL will answer by indicating the procedures required to achieve the certification (inspection visit, test, etc.).The type(s) of glazing obtained by a production centre are listed on its CEKAL certificate in the "Type og glazing subject to specific monitoring" section. They concern special types of glazing on which that production centre may mark "CEKAL" in the framework of a certified process.

  • For example, structural glazing is considered as a "Type og glazing subject to specific monitoring" of an insulating glazing process with silicone sealing.

New type of glazing
To apply for a specific type og glazing , a production centre must inform CEKAL of the type of glazing that it wishes to obtain, indicating if necessary the process(es) concerned, with a copy sent to the MVB. CEKAL will answer by indicating the procedures required to achieve this request (inspection visit, test, etc.).
If a new constituent is to be used, the production centre must apply for a usage authorization from CEKAL, with a copy sent to the MVB.
New constituent
CEKAL will answer either by sending a usage authorization or by indicating the test required.
Note: if the new constituent is a type of mastic sealant not yet used by the production centre, this represents a New assembly process application (see the corresponding section).
All production modifications (new equipment, stopping manufacturing, moving, a company takeover, etc.) must be reported to CEKAL, with a copy sent to the MVB.
Other changes
If the company moves or is taken over, CEKAL will communicate the forms to be filled out to enable it to assess the changes and issue the appropriate response.
